HealthOneMed, Inc (HOM) has been selected by the Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Northeastern Pennsylvania (BFTP/NEP) to receive an investment grant. This funding will be used by HOM to assist with the commercialization of its first product, the Dispense-a-Pill (DAP).

The DAP is a full-featured, easy-to-load, easy-to-program, automated pill dispenser that provides caregivers and patients the assurance that medications are taken on time and in the appropriate dosage. The DAP uses patented dispensing technology to sort the correct number of pills for each dose of each medicine. The patient or caregiver loads the medications into the machine and enters the necessary information. The dispensing system selects the appropriate number of pills required from each chamber for a particular dose time and places them into a dispenser cup. At the pre-programmed time, the alerts sounds and the correct dose will be ready. A phone-alert feature can also call a determined phone number to notify a caregiver that their loved one has not taken their medication, providing an additional safeguard.

HealthOneMed, Inc is a medical device manufacturer founded by Dr. Gazi Abdulhay and headquartered in Allentown, PA. Dr. Abdulhay is a physician/surgeon in the field of Gynecology and Gynecologic Oncology, and he founded the Lehigh Valley Women’s Cancer Center. HOM is a member of the American Telemedicine Association, and a pioneer in the field of Telemedicine.
